GABLES of Cape May County, Inc. announces the release of its debut CD, I Hear on the Streets. The album’s 11 original tracks feature leading independent songwriters and musicians including South Jersey’s Kathy Fowler, Thomas Raniszewski and George Mesterhazy.

 

All physical sales and downloads of I Hear on the Streets and its tracks directly benefits New Alternatives for LGBT Homeless Youth and GSANI of GABLES.

 

New Alternatives for LGBT Homeless Youth, a non-profit organization, assists youth who would otherwise be living on the streets of New York City and vulnerable to its many dangers. New Alternatives feeds, clothes and attends to the medical needs of homeless youth. In addition, New Alternatives’ program teaches youth to be self sufficient and “go beyond” the shelter system.

 

GSANI of GABLES commits itself to the outreach and support of LGBT youth in southern New Jersey through the growth of gay straight alliances in educational institutions. GABLES of Cape May County, Inc., a non profit LGBT community group, was founded in 1995 and continues its charitable work in the County. Most notably of the group’s charitable efforts is the annual auction which for the past 15 years has raised over $70,000. for Volunteers in Medicine of Cape May County and The South Jersey AIDS Alliance.

 

I Hear on the Streets is a compilation of original songs by leading independent artists and was produced by Thomas Raniszewski, Craig vanBaal and D.J. Volk in partnership with GABLES and New Alternatives. Among the many artists featured are Skott Freedman, Reuben Butchart and New Jersey’s own Josh Zuckerman. Also featured on the CD is Ki Ki Hawkins who is known for her live performances and studio work with Patti LaBelle. The songs deal with many of the issues faced by those who are homeless. Co-producer Thomas Raniszewski composed 4 of the album’s tracks including his collaboration on the the title track, “I Hear on the Streets.”

 

The album is available for purchase and download through www.cdbaby.com, iTunes, or simply by visiting the GABLES site www.gablescapemay.com. The album can also be purchased at Good Scents in Cape May.

 

An album release party will be held at Martini Beach on the corner of Decatur Street and Beach Avenue in Cape May on Sunday, June 13 at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 and can be ordered through eventbrite at www.ihearonthestreets.eventbrite.com cash bar and late night menu are included. Live acoustic cover tunes and song standards will be performed by Joe Randle, Matt Hayden and Tom Werkheiser. All ticket holders will recieve a copy of the CD I Hear on the Streets.
