ANNOUNCEMENT - Tickets are now on sale for the Diversity Weekend Cabaret at Carney’s Bar and restaurant on Beach Ave. in Cape May. The dates are April 4 and 5 and each night’s show is different. This is GABLES first attempt at bringing national talent to the Cape. The support of all in the community is needed to make this an event that can be repeated annually. Tickets are $30 each night or $50 for both nights. If you were in NYC you would pay twice as much for this type of talent. There is an after party each night at Carney’s also. Rainbow Directory Going to Print
The latest edition of the only state GLBT guide for visitors will be published shortly. Last years edition reached over 45000 readers. It was distributed from NYC to DC. The state of NJ distributes it at trade shows and conventions. It was distributed this year at the New York Times Travel show and at the annual GLBT expo in New York. The directory receives support from the State of New Jersey and received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in 2006.
STUDY: US HATE GROUPS HAVE INCREASED
The number of hate groups has grown dramatically since 2000 according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. In South Jersey the law center lists the AC Skinheads, hate music mail order firm Micetrap Distribution in Maple Shade, the United Northern and Southern Knights of the KKK in Merchantville and National Socialist Movement in Vineland (neo nazi)
